Merry Christmas

Everyone at The Oaks would like to wish Your Holidays be Merry and the New Year filled with friends, family and good times.

Advocacy Services for Service Users

We would like to welcome Francis to The Oaks, Francis works for Onside Advocacy, The Oaks is very proud that as part of its service, we offer a chance for service users to meet with an advocate on a fortnightly basis. 

This enables the service users to develop a relationship with an advocate, which ensures tailored support for times they may require one.

Onside Advocacy also participate in the quality service checks at The Oaks by conducting our service users questionnaires.

Another great example of partnership working!

Fire Station

Ellen visited Hereford Fire Station as a Star Chart Reward, Ellen throughly enjoyed herself and learnt a lot about fire safety which she shared with everybody at The Oaks when she got back.

Christmas Lights Switch On!

The countdown to Christmas has already started and the Christmas Festival in Malvern will be held on Saturday 28 November.

There will be a number events going on throughout the day, which our service users will enjoy including stalls and live music throughout the day. Topping it all off the official switch on will be at 6pm where celebrities from this years Panto "Peter Pan" will be switching them on.

Jane at the Spa

Jane has been to Malvern Spa this week with Ashlea to use their brilliant facilities, which Jane enjoys very much. Jane's favourite activity while at the Spa is swimming.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Rob and Jane on their wedding day.

Service Users and Staff would like to thank them for inviting them to their special day.

CQC Inspection

We are pleased to announce The Oaks have received an overall rating of good from our latest inspection report. The inspector visited The Oaks on 15th September '15 where they spent the day with us.


Management would like to say a special thank you to all service users, their families, professionals and staff. Its the joint effort of everybody that makes The Oaks such a success. Thank-you!

Peter & Mark's Holiday

Peter and Mark went on holiday to Usk last week and they appeared to of had a brilliant time and especially with the good weather. Peter and Mark went on a number of excursions including Barry Island and St Fagans.

Congratulations Jeanette

We would like to congratulate Jeanette on becoming our latest Acting Team Leader, We wish Jeanette every success!

Summertime BBQ

The Oaks had their Annual BBQ in September. The rain stayed away for everyone to enjoy a lovely BBQ outside in the garden. The end of the summer was celebrated with plenty of food and laughter. We would like to thank everybody who attended the BBQ for coming.

Strawberry Picking

Sarah & Jane went to Clive's Fruit Farm with staff to pick strawberries for everybody at The Oaks, Sarah & Jane enjoyed the afternoon.

Good Luck To Claire

As of September Claire will become our latest Team Leader, We wish Claire every success!

Good Luck to Debbie

As of September Debbie will become a Bank Support Worker, this is due to Debbie starting University but she would still like to stay at The Oaks, We wish Debbie every success!

Sammy's Trip to Shrewsbury

Yesterday Sammy went out for the day to Shrewsbury with Staff, Sammy went to the Park and then out for lunch, after a long day out, Sammy came back to The Oaks. Sammy enjoyed her day out with staff.

Ellen's Star Chart Reward

Ellen went out for Lunch last week as her Star Chart Reward with staff, Ellen appeared to of enjoyed and is looking forward to next time.

Lunch Out

Jane and Gemma went out for Lunch last Friday, the sun is was out so it was prefect opportunity to east their lunch outside alfresco.

Alison & Pauline Leaving

We are sad to say that Alison & Pauline are leaving us at The Oaks for new exciting job opportunities and we wish them every success in their new jobs.

Ellen's Star Chart Reward

Ellen has been for Lunch as Ellen has collected all of our Stars for her Star Chart Reward. Ellen appeared to of enjoyed herself with staff.

Meet Our New Staff!

Two new Support Workers have joined the support team at The Oaks. After a job interview where they had to answer many questions from both Service Users and Staff and 2 weeks of intensive induction Molly & Dan started this month.

Fruit Picking at Clive Fruit Farm

Ellen and Claire went to Clive's Fruit Farm to pick strawberries for everybody at The Oaks, Ellen enjoyed the afternoon and then went for a well deserved drink.

West Midlands Safari Park

All our Service Users went out for the day to West Midlands Safari Park, all of our service users appeared to of enjoyed it and then went around the shops and finally then for lunch.

Ellen's Trip to The Animal Shelter

Ellen has been to see the Cats and Dogs at the animal shelter, Ellen enjoys going to the shelter to look after them for the afternoon.

John's Trip to Birmingham

John has been to Birmingham and visited the Birmingham Hippodrome to watch Top Hat with Staff, John stayed in a hotel and appeared to of enjoyed the overnight stay.

Sammy's Holiday

Sammy has been on Holiday, she has stayed in a log cabin in Leominster and has been on Days out for the seaside, shopping centres and also to the local parks.
