Jolene Riggs- Home Manager

All of the staff and service users at The Oaks would like to say a huge welcome to Jolene Riggs.

Jolene (or Jo as we are calling her), has started her first day today as our Home Manager.

We are all pleased to have her here.

She will be working along side Christine Smith for a while until she settles in. So,

'Welcome Jolene, from all at The Oaks!'

Mark and Hugh.

They both have obviously been out for much of the day! Judging by this picture, they look like they are ready to just relax in the log cabin!

Mark and Hugh are relaxing in the log cabin after just returning from a long walk and lunch out. This looks like a well deserved tea break!

Welshpool

Mark and Hugh's holiday to Welshpool!

Mark and Hugh have just returned from their trip to Welshpool! As you can see by the picture the weather was fab- for most of the time! They have been out and about seeing the sights and have also spent some time relaxing in the log cabin they were staying in. The view from the log cabin was picturesque and they both enjoyed getting away for the week.

Ellen at The Safari Park

(Written by Ellen Allen)

Here I am by the show ground at the safari park. Next to this was the room with the bats- but we didn't go in there!! We all changed our mind as we were going through the door!!! Ha ha!!!

We all had such a good day. I just want to let you know that Mark and Hugh are still on their holiday and I can't wait to see them when they get back! I'm looking forward to seeing their photo's and I am sure you are too!

Goodbye for now!!!

The Lions

(Written by Ellen Allen)

Here are the lions. We had to go through gates which shut behind us and locked us in the lion section. It was a little strange but I wasn't scared! The lions were pretty lazy anyway! They were happy to relax in the sun!

The Sealions.

This is a picture of the sea lions. They were swimming under water like a fish. They would peek their heads up above the water and then dive back down again.

Chris, Ellen, Jane & John at The Safari Park

(Written by Ellen Allen)

On Wednesday a group of us went to the safari park for the day. The weather was mainly good. We had sunshine with odd showers, but it didn't effect our day, we had a fantastic time! We saw lots of animals and I took lots of photos with my camera. We had lunch at the safari park, I had pie, chips and peas and a sprite to drink. Take a look at some of the pictures I took during our day...................

Hugh Claridge

Hello Everyone!

My name is Hugh. I am 49 years old and I am going to share with you a little bit about my life here at The Oaks.

I have a key worker and a co key worker who help me to develop my planner for the week ahead. My planner contains all the activities I like to do and activities to help me to develop my own skills.

This week the weather has been so nice that I have mainly been going out. I enjoy activities such as bowling, Snoozelem, I love to walk and I like to go to cafes. Every week I go to a restaurant for a meal and a night out. (You have probably seen me in other pictures here on our blog site).

(This has been written on behalf of Hugh)
