10 Year Celebration of The Oaks


On Friday 7th December The Oaks. held its annual Mulled Wine and Mince Pie Morning, this year was a double celebration as it was also 10 years since The Oaks first opened. the home welcomed guests including family, friends, and the Mayor of Malvern. The Hills Singers also provided a selection of christmas songs and the event was enjoyed by all. Donna commented and said “Everyone has enjoyed today, its great we have had many guests as it gives service users a real sense of community inclusion.

Sammy's Hydrotherapy Session

Sammy has been going to a Hydrotherapy session for the past few weeks at Osbourne Court, Sammy appears to of been enjoying herself there especially the Jacuzzi but is now on a Christmas Break there and will be returning in January.

Ellen's Treat Up The Severn

Ellen earned herself a treat for the week by going on a river cruise starting on Worcester and going up the River Severn. and then a trip to Angel Chef for a meal.

The Oaks Goes To Weston Super Mare

The Service Users enjoyed a day at Weston Super Mare where they had Fish & Chips in the Cafe at the end of the New Weston Pier then went to Weston Aquarium to see the Fish, Sharks and other Sealife. The Service Users also had a nice walk around the town.

Coffee Morning Success!

Good Luck Team GB At The Paralympics

Everybody at The Oaks would like to wish Team GB every successful at The Paralympics which is starting in just 8 Days and starts on 29th August until 9th September.

Also we would like to say a Big Congratulations to Team GB on winning their 65 Medals, Which was won at the London 2012 Olympics consisting of 29 Gold, 17 Silver and 19 Bronze Medals. Making us come third out of 204 countries who competed in the games.

"Well Done, You have done Great Britain Proud".

Coffee Morning

We are holding a Coffee Morning at The Oaks to invite Family, Friends and Other Homes around Worcestershire to come and Chat, Drink and Eat.




The Coffee Morning will be held on Monday 3rd September at 11am til 1pm. Invites have been posted, So maybe you have already got yours but don't worry if you haven't because its on its way.

Don't forgot to RSVP by Monday 27th August '12 or before! and We will be looking forward to seeing you there.

Sunday Lunch

This Sunday Jane, Ellen and Liam made a fantastic Sunday Lunch with Roast Beef, Roast Potatoes, Vegetables and Yorkshire Puddings.





Jane, Ellen and Liam enjoyed making the Lunch and Everyone enjoyed the Lunch. I think we got a Nigella Lawson, Gordon Ramsay and Delia Smith on our hands.

A well deserved cup of tea was made.

Jane & John's Big Break to Stardom

Jane and John starred in Shakespeare's Version of Macbeth at their Drama Group they go to on a Wednesday Morning, After weeks of rehearsals the day had finally came.

11 July '12, John and Jane done their performance and it was a real hit with everyone which went to watch including and staff and service users at The Oaks as well as Service Users families. 








Jane's Race For Life

A few months ago we posted about Jane entering in Worcester's race for life. Well on 24th June, Jane completed the race with Maddy, A Support Worker at The Oaks and together they raised a whooping £500!














Everybody at The Oaks would like to Congratulate Jane and Maddy for completing the 5km race in Worcester and raising money for Cancer Research.

A big thank-you to everyone who supported and sponsored Jane and Maddy.

Olympic Torch Goes Past The Oaks

On the morning of 25th May, The Olympic Torch passed by The Oaks where Staff and Service Users Watched the Historic Moment at the front of the House in the garden.




Crowds gathered around on Paths and Streets Corner to watch the torch and Celebrate this such iconic moment in the Great British history. Everyone at The Oaks wishes every success for Team GB at the Olympic Games which started on 27th July '12.

Jane & Ellen's Holiday to Sunny Crete

At the start of June Jane & Ellen jetted off to sunny Crete for a Week of Greek sunny weather, While on holiday they visited local attractions such as the oldest tree in Crete, Sun Bathing on the Beach, Looking around old churches and trying the local greek delicatessen in the restaurants.






We hope they had a lovely time and they are looking forward to going on holiday next year.

Mark & Peter's Holiday

Mark and Peter has been for on their Holidays in May, They went down to the Cornish Seaside and stayed in a Caravan which was shared together.






While on Holiday, Peter and Mark visited various different places in the Cornish Region such as the Eden Project, Boat Trips, Train trips and Going to the Beach for a Sneaky Ice-Cream. We hope they both enjoyed themselves.


A Fond Farewell to Beth

We are sad to say that Beth has left us at The Oaks for a new exciting job opportunity and we wish her every success in her new job but she will be missed very much by everyone at The Oaks.







Warm Welcome To All Of Our New Staff

We would also like to make a warm welcome to new staff Holly, Jeanette, Liam, Alison, Chloe and Adina who have joined us at The Oaks.
