Summer is coming...

Everyone decided to spent some time in the garden and enjoy the summer.
While most of us where hiding in a shade and drinking cold drinks some busy bees despite the heat did some gardening.

Thank you to Maddy, Jane, Paul and Gaynor for their hard work and turning our garden into a such a lovely place.

Shopping day

As a part of Independent Living Skills training Service Users are encouraged in actively participating in choosing their own meals, shopping and cooking.
Mark and Paul went out last week to do some shopping. They did really good job in looking for the bargains.
Have a look at some photos of Mark and Paul browsing around the shop.

Day on a farm...

Ellen had a brilliant week. Her Star Chart was full of stars!
As a reward for the Star Chart Ellen has chosen to go and feed animals on a farm.
On Wednesday she invited Jane, Mark and two members of staff to go with her.
They all had a great day out.

Ellen took lots of brilliant photos of all the animals.
She clearly has got a talent.

Ellen's shopping day - working towards ASDAN qualifications

Service Users at The Oaks have recently started working towards ASDAN qualifications.

As a part of Ellen's ASDAN training she learns how to shop for and cook her own lunch.
Every Wednesday Ellen chooses a meal she wants to cook, she writes a list of all the necessary ingredients and then goes shopping.
We all think Ellen is a brilliant cook!
If you are lucky you can get invited by Ellen to join her and try her cooking. I can assure you it's delicious!

The Oaks is a registered ASDAN (Award Scheme Development & Accreditation Network) Centre. ASDAN enables service users to gain recognised qualifications within a wide range of programmes suited to individual abilities and interests.
