Carbooting

It's getting warmer and there's more and more car boots everywhere. On Sunday we like to pop in to one of them and have a little brows. We always find something interesting and it's nice to have a walk before delicious Sunday roast!

Last Sunday Ellen bought some relaxation music, Nick found some great deals on DVDs and Mark enjoyed tasty sausage roll.
We will see you next week fellow bargain hunters! (Weather permitting of course)

Meet our new staff

Hi everybody! My name is John and I've just started working at The Oaks. My first couple of weeks were a bombardment of information I needed to know, but Assistant Manager, Maggie, presented it with an easy going style that helped a lot of it sink in. The Oaks provide an unbelievable array of courses from first aid to a course on medication to LDQ and NVQ.

The staff here are great, and that's not me being polite, I've found everyone approachable and supportive. They are all professional but fun too. I've already been invited onto the staff nights out, so I feel very accepted which is hard sometimes moving into a new job.

It's not only the staff who've been accepting but the Service Users too. I've been told of the best places to have a meal or a cup of coffee. Jane likes my hats and Mark has me trained into a professional tea maker.

I love it at The Oaks. I can't stop smiling.

Sounds of Music - Sing-a-Long-a

Last week Jane and John went to Malvern Theatres to see Sing-a-Long-a Sounds of Music. It's the famous musical complete with subtitles so that you can sing along. They both said they had a fantastic time and it was great idea to have the subtitles on however John said he knew most of the songs' lyrics already!
